Matevž Lenarčič

BIOGRAPHY

Matevž Lenarčič majored in biology and natural heritage conservation. Until 1990, he worked for the Institute of Nature Conservation of the Republic of Slovenia. Afterwards, he commenced his independent professional journey. His activities and lifestyle make him a photographer, pilot, environmental conservationist, mountaineer, and paraglider. As a mountain climber, he has climbed the extreme mountain slopes of Patagonia and has also conquered the 8,051m high Broad Peak in the Himalayas. As a photographer and author, he has published 11 monographs (on aerial photography, nature, climbing...). Some of them are also recipients of awards and have been translated into several languages. He was also the founder and director of the aerial photography provider Aerovizija d. o. o. (www.aerovizija.com).

  • An experienced long distance pilot with the PPL, IFR, and ULPL licenses
  • More than 3,500 hours of flying time across all continents
  • The flights were mostly carried out with ultralight aircraft, some of them also with single-engine aircraft.
